  • Indoor tennis court with a black net, blue court surface, and white curtains in the background.

    The Basics

Padel is almost always played in doubles. The aim is to hit the ball over the net into the opponents’ court, keeping it in play by using both the floor and the walls.

Imagine a mixture of tennis and squash-this is padel!

  • Indoor padel court with four women playing, surrounded by glass walls, with sunlight coming through windows, and modern lighting fixtures on the ceiling.

    The Court & Gear

Court: 20m x 10m, enclosed by glass and mesh walls.

Racket: Carbon fiber or fiberglass, lightweight, no strings.

Ball: Similar to a tennis ball but with less bounce for longer rallies.

  • Modern wooden house on a grassy landscape with mountains in the background and people inside visible through a large window.

    How to Play & Score

Serve underarm and diagonally towards the glass.

Points are won if the ball bounces twice, hits an opponent, or strikes a wall before crossing the net.

Scoring follows tennis rules: 15, 30, 40, game.
